Once you've had a chance to have a look at the course structure, you'll start to ask yourself some questions - this page will answer most of them (but always feel free to contact us any time):

Where do I START?
It seems simple but start at Task 1.
Do Tasks 1,2 & 3 quickly and send them in straight away. Then go to Task 4 and work your way through all of the remaining Tasks that you've been assigned. There may be gaps in the numbering of your assigned Tasks and it may appear that Tasks are missing. That's because different Tasks are assigned to different states and different courses

Should I read all of the STUDY MATERIAL before answering the questions?
No. I always recommend that Students approach it this way;
Read through the questions, along the way answer those that you can.
Then go back to the start and conduct targeted research to find the answers you didn't know

Why don't the Tasks line up with the LICENSING MODULES that I need?
The Tasks "cluster" the modules so don't panic if it seems that there are fewer Tasks than the modules you require for licensing

Why do some of the Task QUESTIONS APPEAR IRRELEVANT to my chosen field of real estate?
The academic units or modules that you require for licensing are specified by the regulatory body in your state and they are part of a larger, very broadly based NATIONAL TERTIARY QUALIFICATION called a Certificate 4 in Property Services

How am I expected to KNOW THE ANSWERS to these course questions?
You’re not. The collateral that we provide will provide some of the answers but as is the case with all Tertiary Education you are expected to use external means as well, such as searching the web, collaborating with others or talking to industry experts – make a cold call to a Licensed Agent and ask, you'll find most Licensed Agents extremely helpful

Why do some questions appear to have have NO RIGHT OR WRONG ANSWERS?
Tertiary Education is designed to provoke THOUGHT, inspire you to do some RESEARCH and motivate you to LEARN something about yourself and the subject matter

Are there TRICK QUESTIONS and should I give LENGTHY DETAILED ANSWERS?
No! No! DON’T OVER COMPLICATE your answers; they are simple questions that require simple, logical answers. I always give students the example of the Driving Test question that asks “what should you do before overtaking?” – some might be inclined to answer “calculate the respective velocities of the vehicle to be overtaken, the approaching vehicle and my vehicle, measure their distance apart, multiply the power to weight ratio and rate of acceleration capability of my vehicle, subtract the decelerating effect of the angle of incline of the road, factor the coefficient of friction of my tyres and the surface of the road …….etc etc” – when the required answer is only “make sure it is safe to do so”. Simple and logical - it's the same with these questions

What happens if I FAIL?
This is NOT like an arithmetic EXAM, it will not be clinically marked and YOU WILL NOT FAIL should you answer a few questions incorrectly or miss a few. It's an assessment of COMPETENCY, so the Assessment Tasks help to determine where you are already competent and NOT YET COMPETENT. We will work with you until you reach the required level of competency so that your qualifications can be granted

Should I make sure my WORK IS FLAWLESS before submitting it?
Students are encouraged to submit work after the first attempt, DON’T BE A PERFECTIONIST, don’t hang on to your work until you think it’s mistake-free. LET US DO THE ASSESSING – There are NO RESUBMISSION FEES and it does not adversely affect your result. We can usually fill in any gaps OVER THE PHONE or by email and RESUBMISSION IS RARELY REQUIRED

Is there a COMMON THEME that I should keep in mind when answering questions?
Yes. There are 3 pillars upon which the real estate industry is built. Everything you do in the real estate industry must:
1. Comply with LEGISLATION
2. Follow AGENCY POLICY
3. Maintain ETHICAL STANDARDS

Finally, the real estate industry is all about communication, so any time you have a query just shoot us an email or jump on the phone, there are no silly questions.
